Neelakurinji Trail — Mudigere
A bloom that returns once in twelve years
The entire hillslopes of Mudigere are turning purple. The neelakurinji flowers only once every twelve years, and this is that window. Miss it, and the next bloom is in 2038.
This is a two-day trek through the Western Ghats to witness the phenomenon up close, ending with a trek to Devaramane on the second day. It’s an easy-to-moderate trail, well suited for beginners and anyone looking for a slower, contemplative outdoor experience rather than an adrenaline-heavy trek.
Who this is for: First-time trekkers, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to witness a once-in-a-lifetime natural event without needing prior trekking experience.
